I’ve spent a lot of time and money on equipment and gear that didn’t work well, didn’t hold up or I just didn’t need. I try to travel like I live. Simply and without a lot of clutter. I always research my stuff to the extreme because I want it to last and be practical. I only recommend something when I own, love and use it. I won’t recommend shit just to get paid. These recommendations are made not just to make advertising revenue but to share with you my experience and save you some time and money. That said I do use the revenue to fund this site, my raging beer habit and traveling. Please read the “Important” legal notice below then scroll through for cool stuff.

I never knew I needed these. The difference “sticks” have made on my hikes has literally been like a gift from God. My knees, back and legs thank me every single hike. I don’t hike without them. These help so much on uphill, downhill and slick conditions. They also collapse right down if you encounter a scramble or climb and can’t use them. I can’t praise these enough. Carbon fiber with carbide tips and rubber feet all at a reasonable price. Click on pic to view more info or purchase on Amazon.
This probably isn’t the best backpack for short hikes. It’s a little large for that. I typically use this more for long hikes in remote areas and prospecting. It has lots of little pockets and enough room for survival gear, extra clothes, a little food and prospecting equipment. Works great for my needs and has held up great over the last year considering how rough I am on my gear. Click on pic to view more info or purchase on Amazon.
I will break most of my gear if its even remotely breakable. Prospecting is especially rough on my gear. So when I finally decided on a drink container I chose this one. Its 32 oz, solid and will keep whatever you put in it hot or cold for an adequate amount of time. Use it for water, coffee, beer, soup or a cold margarita break in all of natures glory. My favorite hiking boots I’ve ever owned. You can spend a shit ton of money on hiking boots. These are worth twice what they cost in my opinion. Reasonably priced and they have taken me to the top of mountains without a problem. Not a single blister. Comfortable, great looking, lightweight, waterproof and fantastic traction in all conditions. They even clean up well after slogging through mud. Click on pic to view more info or purchase on Amazon.
If its chilly out when you are hiking, these are heaven on your feet. I wear these around the house in winter instead of slippers. I just love the way they feel on my feet. The wool with nylon blend is perfect and they don’t itch. They slide on like silk. The cushioning in the sole makes my flat feet feel like I’m walking on a pillow. Needless to say I love these socks . Click on pic to view more info or purchase on Amazon.
